Milena Bozhilov is a Bulgarian/Swiss classical pianist who began playing at the age of 5 and performed her first piano solo recital at the age of 7.

Notably, Milena attended National Music School – Plovdiv and earned her Bachelor’s degree from National Music Academy- Sofia in Bulgaria. Later, in 2004 she moved to Switzerland where she received her Master’s degree with Honors from the jury at Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne. Some of her piano teachers were Mira Vassilev, Rositza Ivancheva, Jenny Zacharieva, Dag Achatz, Jean Francois Antonioli and Ricardo Castro.

Further, throughout her educational journey, she regularly participated in several national and international master classes such as Germain Munnie [France], Ralf Natkemfer and Boris Bloch [Germany], Oxana Yablonskaya [Russia], among others.

Additionally, she is a winner of 3 National and 2 International piano competitions. Also, she received the special prize for Best Performance of French Baroque Music at the prestigious Albert Russel International Competition.

Professionally, Milena has performed with many philharmonic orchestras in Bulgaria and has had solo appearances in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Norway and Dubai among others.

Her repertoire includes various styles and composers, proficient in a wide variety of musical genres, including Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern music.

In addition to her career as a professional musician, Milena has more than 15 years of piano teaching experience and has worked with all ages and ability levels, regardless of musicianship level or aptitude.

Milena is trilingual; she speaks English, French and Bulgarian.

First, speaking from personal experience, it is imperative that every student finds the right piano teacher who recognizes the importance of establishing and developing the correct technical piano skills to lay the foundation for successful musicianship growth.

Second, at face value, piano playing – and music in general – enriches every student’s life culturally, spiritually, and emotionally. Beyond that, piano playing is an opportunity for students to express themselves creatively. They develop valuable life skills that extend beyond the music such as confidence, focus, responsibility, dedication, commitment, self-control, discipline, and fine motor skills.

Therefore, my goal is to inspire my students in leading by example; my passion for music fuels my teaching. I truly enjoy watching students witness and listen to their growth with time and dedicated efforts.

Accordingly, a commitment to consistency and passion inspires all that I do and I hope to pass this onto my piano students. My goal is to help students nurture their budding skills and grow into successful musicians. Your success is my success!
